Lightning Is a Killer

The Portland Press Herald ran an online news article (August 28, 2007) entitled "Lightning an all-too-common killer in U.S.". So far 31 people have died from lightning this year across the United States. Most of these people have been outside engaged in some form of outdoor recreational activity such as camping, hiking, riding a bike, etc. The article provides a summary of how and where people have been struck and also includes a list of lightning safety tips.
