Report Issued Cites CIA Failings Prior to 9/11
The CIA has released a report critical of the CIA's actions prior to 9/11 citing failings. The report was written in 2005 but has just been made public. Among the failings, the CIA was not sufficiently focused on al-Qaida and they did not share intelligence with other agencies. Read an editorial in the Bangor Daily News (August 25, 2007) entitled "Intelligence Gaps" for more on this subject. For more information visit the MSSR's webpages on Terrorism and Homeland Security.
