Maine Police Reserves Important to Small Communities

Maine Police Reserves are an important part of the small communities of Maine - providing a cost effective source of security and safety. The practice of employing part-time law enforcement officials in Maine has been called into question - especially in regards to the level of firearms training provided. The Portland Press Herald posted an article (30 Sep 07) about this subject and it can be viewed by clicking here - "Police reserves fill key niches". The Morning Sentinel carried a similar story - "Reserve police officers trained less".
