"National Preparedness Month" and "Maine Prepares" - September

September has been designated "National Preparedness Month" by the Feds and the state has launched a program called "Maine Prepares" for the same month. The website provides more information on this program. See the Maine Government News posting (September 1, 2007) entitled "September Focus on Preparedness Highlights Year-Round Emergency Management Activities". Information in this post includes planning together for an emergency, building a disaster supply kit for your home, making a family communications plan, and how to stay informed during a disaster. In addition, the state government has a website called "Maine Prepares" which provides information on how to prepare for emergencies. Click here for more information about Maine Emergency Management Agencies.
