Firefighters Trained to Spot for Terrorist Activity?

The Portland Press Herald ran a very interesting article about firefighters being trained to observe for signs of terrorist activity. It seems that the Department of Homeland Security has instituted some training programs that encourage firefighters to report suspicious activities that might be related to terrorism. On the surface that makes sense. However, the Portland Press Herald's editorial takes issue with that - read more in the November 28, 2007 posting - "Firefighters should not become spies in terror war".
