Maine Prisons Are Getting Overcrowded Says Study by USM
A study by the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine finds that Maine's prisons have gotten more crowded over the past year. The primary reason is that more people are committing serious crimes. The study was presented at a day-long summit at the Augusta State Armory where judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, sheriffs, and others were attending.
