Maine Sailor Gets Thanksgiving Police Escort Home

A Maine sailor home on leave from the Middle East was picked up at the Portland, Maine JetPort and escorted home to Monmouth, Maine by a police convoy of five vehicles. The local police officers did the surprise escort home on their own off-time and at their expense (paid for gas) to show their support to a local service member serving overseas. Read more on this Thanksgiving escort in the Portland Press Herald news posting (20 Nov 07) entitled "Police escort serviceman home for Thanksgiving".
