Lee, Maine Soldier Dies in Iraq - CPL Emery (Nov 07)
Corporal Blair W. Emery, 24, of Lee, Maine, died November 30, 2007 in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Fort Lewis, Washington. He was deployed to Iraq in July. He was the second soldier this year to die from Lee, Maine - a small town of 900 people. Emery joined the Army after his two sisters joined up. On June 23, 2007, Sergeant Joel House, also from Lee died in Iraq.
