GPS Used to Catch Car Thieves
Police are planting hidden GPS tracking systems in "abandoned bait cars" in an effort to catch car thieves. Once the GPS is activated the police will monitor its location and alert nearby police officers. If necessary, the dispatcher who is monitoring the vehicles location, can shut the vehicle down using the GPS technology. This eliminates the need for a high-speed chase.
