Runners, Earphones, and Safety

Runners frequently wear earphones to listen to music while running. Many running clubs and race directors are discouraging this practice on the grounds of safety. It is only common sense that someone running along the streets or roads where vehicles are traveling should be able to hear the honk of a horn on the sound of a vehicle coming up behind them.
