CPR and Defibrillator: Life Saver in Maine

The Augusta Fire Department is offering a free "Heartsaver CPR" training session lasting 4 hours to those interested. Part of the training will include how to operate an automated external defibrillator or AED. Read a recent news article about how a man's life was saved in the Kennebec Valley YMCA by an AED (and the YMCA staff) after his heart stopped during an exercise routine - see "Don't be a victim", Kennebec Journal, July 16, 2008. Also included in the article is contact info about the course offered by the Augusta, Maine fire department.
