Tasers: Deaths Still in the News

Police use of stun guns (Tasers) are on the increase across the country and so are deaths attributed to the use these weapons. A Louisiana case where a victim died after being tased nine times in 14 minutes by a policeman is going to court. Amnesty International (now there is an organization you can believe) has reported that tasers have played a role in at least 300 deaths. It would appear that some believe that nightsticks, batons, and firearms would be a more acceptable course of action in subduing a dangerous individual. Read more in "Are stun guns too deadly? Louisania case adds to debate", The Christian Science Monitor, August 12, 2008. Visit our web page for more information about Taser safety, guidelines, use and news articles.
