Dept of Homeland Security Progress and Priorities

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a "Fact Sheet" on the progress the United States has made in the defense against terrorism. In addition the "Fact Sheet" outlines the priorities for future work of the DHS. The fact sheet discusses achievements made in border security (fencing and patrols), "connecting the dots" (vetting travelers, databases, intelligence), implementation of biometrics, secure documentation, aviation security, aviation checkpoints, improvements with law enforcement in regards to illegal aliens, protecting America from dangerous goods, protecting critical infrastructure, improving the emergency response system, and more.
