Protecting Your Email Account

The recent hacking of Governor Palin's email account and publishing of some of the contents on the Internet has brought the security of email accounts to the forefront. There are some steps you can take to protect your email account. A recent online news article provides some security steps that you can take.

- Password reset feature for webmail (such as Yahoo!). When you answer a security question, don't be truthful - use a fictitious answer. Example: "What is your mother's maiden name?". Use a ficticious answer. The computer doesn't know. But someone else can Google this question and come up with the answer.
