TSA Implements "Secure Flight" on Jan 1, 2008

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will launch "Secure Flight" on January 1, 2009 Secure Flight is the next generation passenger screening program and puts the government in change of matching names to watch lists. There are a lot of questions about this program in terms of privacy and data accuracy - so it has its critics. A key component of the program is asking fliers to volunteer more information for the database than is now required to make reservations. I am sure that the airlines and travel industry is looking forward to this new and better program! (probably not!). Read what the TSA has to say about their Secure Flight Program on their website - where the mission, goals, testing and other topics are outlined.
