TWIC IDs Required at Maine Ports

New badges are now required by workers who are employed in Maine's ports. The badges - called Transportation Worker Identification Credential - or TWIC badges are a new mechanism designed to improve security at the nation's ports. Here in Maine that would mean the badge would give a worker access to areas where ships, waterfront facilities, and oil tanks are located.
