Cyber Security Initiative and Homeland Security

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will head up the governments cyber security effort. The DHS will be responsible for the protection of domains ending in .gov, .mil, and .ic. The Defense Department and other intelligence agencies will play a supporting role. The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) will assist as well as the National Cybersecurity Center.
