Maine Information Analysis Center - Intel Fusion

The Maine Civil Liberties Union (MCLU) is asking what activities the Maine Information Analysis Center is conducting in the state of Maine. The Maine Information Analysis Center was set up by the state to act as a clearinghouse for "information and intelligence related to homeland security concerns . . ." by Governor Baldacci. There are over 60 intel fusion organizations found at state level across the country. The MCLU has filed a Freedom of Access Act request for information about everything the intel fusion center is doing and it appears that the state will have to comply. No surprise here - the ACLU and MCLU continues to disappoint us. Read more about this topic in "MCLU wants info on intelligence-gathering centers", Sun Journal Online, November 13, 2008.
