Bomb Sniffers to be Removed from Airports

US Today reports (May 21, 2009) that bomb-sensing equipment will soon be removed from some U.S. airports. The reason is the machines are proving to be unreliable. The "puffer" machines that air travelers walk through don't seem to work. 94 machines were installed and 113 other machines (yes, bought and paid for) were kept in storage. Lots of money spent for these machines . . . hmmmmmmm. Read more about this topic in "It's the last gasp for bomb-sensing "puffers" at airports".
