Cruise Lines Worried About Piracy Near Somalia
Cruise lines are concerned about safety while transiting near the coast of Somalia. Pirates have recently tried to take hostage cruise ships of the Somali coast. The pirates attack in small speedboats and try to board the cruise ships using grappling hooks and rope ladders. Once on board they threaten the crew and passengers with RPGs and AK-47s. The pirates objective is either robbery or holding the crew, passengers and ship for ransom. Read a recent online news story on this topic.
