Augusta, Maine city officials say that they are prepared for the onset of swine flu (referred to as H1N1 Flu by some). (See "City officials say they're prepared for flu", Morning Sentinel, May 1, 2009). A special meeting was held last night (Thursday) of the City Council and the school board where the fire chief and emergency management director answered questions on preparedness. More information can be found at http://www.mainepublichealth.gov/. Simple suggestions to avoid getting swine flu include washing your hands, coughing into your elbow shirt sleeve, and staying home for school and work if you have flu symptoms.
