Online Security and AOL IM
My wife and I had an interesting but disconcerting experience on Sunday morning. We were both at our computers in our home office checking email. I was reading an online article on identity theft that I was going to make a small posting about on my security blog (see post below). She was checking her email. Then I heard her talking to herself and the one-way conversation was interesting. She was making comments and laughing about me with me in the room. It seems she logged onto AOL Instant Messenger and starting to IM with me. We do this quite often. Pass little short messages such as "I love you", "Do you need a coffee refill", or "Do you know how fine you are to me?". It is a little romantic Instant Messenger game that we play even though either one of us could turn around in our seats and touch each other on the shoulder! Well Sunday morning she was going on and on with my IM screen name and it was getting racy. I asked her what she was laughing about and she said she was getting a kick out of my sexy responses to her typing. I quickly informed her that I wasn't signed on and and showed her my computer screen. I logged on real quick and was informed that I was logged on twice. Hmmmmm. Needless to say I changed my password.
