Chemical Plant Security in Maine (and elsewhere)

The security of chemicals that can be used in terrorist attacks is of particular concern to security professionals. The issue of chemical plant security has been in the background for quite a while - especially since 9/11; but we haven't seemed to be able to tackle this issue and get it resolved. Although Congress has considered legislation in the past to beef up chemical plant security; it hasn't passed anything of substance. Read a guest editorial column on this issue by two Maine citizens. In the article they cite lack of proper perimeter security of plants in Maine using dangerous chemicals. See "Congress should address security at plants", Sun Journal, June 12, 2005.
