Hotel Security: Protecting Your Customers in Your Parking Lot and Garage

A Stamford, Connecticut hotel is now facing a lawsuit because of a crime committed in their hotel parking garage. A women and her children were held at gunpoint, robbed, and then the woman was raped in front of her children. The perpetrator was caught and sentenced to 20 years. The woman has now filed a law suit against the hotel claiming negligence. The hotel is fighting the lawsuit stating that the woman and her children failed to properly "mitigate their damages". In addition, the hotel has inadvertently released the woman's name to several people who know the victim that did not need to know about the crime.
