Disabled Auto License Plates for Maine Veterans Should Count for Something

A handicapped military veteran from Caribou, Maine who has disabled veteran license plates recently received a ticket for parking in a disabled parking spot because he didn't use the placard with the rolling wheelchair.  Representative John Martin of Eagle Lake, Maine has submitted a bill that would require the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles to accept the Veterans Administration's designation of disabled veteran.  In Maine disabled veteran's plates are given to anyone who is 100% disabled and has a permanent disability.  See "Lawmakers to review disabled veterans plates", Bangor Daily News, December 31, 2009.

Hmmmm . . . I wonder if the meter maid served.
