Members of 172nd Mountain Infantry Regiment of the Maine Army National Guard return to training and eventual deployment
Members of the Maine Army National Guard enjoyed a brief holiday here in Maine before returning to Camp Atterbury, Indiana for additional training. They had a ten-day pass. Many could not afford their own transportation home to Maine during the pass period. However, they were the recipients of good will by the author Stephen King who paid for a bus to bring them home and return them. The members of the 172nd Mountain Infantry Regiment will deploy shortly for Afghanistan for an almost one year tour.
