Computers at University of Maine were Attacked by Hackers

"ORONO, Maine (AP) -- University of Maine officials say hackers exposed personal information from 4,585 students who sought mental health services from the campus counseling center.  Dean of Students Robert Dana said Tuesday said that a pair of computer servers that were hacked contained social security numbers as well as confidential treatment records dating to 2002.  Dana says there's no way of knowing for sure whether the material was viewed or downloaded, but that the university is working under a worse-case scenario. The campus police department is leading the investigation.  The announcement follows an unrelated incident in which hackers disrupted a website that helps users search for information about bills being considered by the Maine Legislature."
