Brunswick, Maine Schools Discourage State Effort to Collect Student Social Security Numbers

Another city in Maine has come out against the Maine law requiring schools to collect student social security numbers because of identity theft and privacy concerns.  The Brunswick School Board in an unanimous vote "approved a resolution to oppose the collection of student Social Security numbers by the Maine Department of Education."  Source of information is "Student SSN sharing discouraged", Times Record, September 16, 2010.
